German automotive concern ePorsch signed a contract with the XAIN block-start start-up from Berlin. Together, the parties began to test the technology of the distributed registry on Porsche Panamera cars, writes Trustnodes.
The publication reports with reference to representatives of the parties that the blockade has already been implemented in the software mechanisms for locking and unlocking the car's door locks. This allowed six times to increase the speed of their operation – now the result is fixed at around 1.6 seconds. In addition to locks, the technology of the distributed registry has found application in the system of temporary access authorization, allowing for a while to lend the car to another driver.
Oliver Derring, CFO of Porsche, noted that innovative technologies used in the production of cars are not only beautiful words that help to stay in a dynamic market, but bear real benefits to owners, opening up new opportunities for them in terms of security.  In addition to the implementation of the blockade in the specified vehicle nodes, the developers are going to use the technology of the distributed registry for fast and secure data transmission, which will allow, for example, significant savings s the time when payment charge, car parking and a number of other cases.
